英译汉-主谓搭配

主谓搭配是指主语和谓语的搭配。英汉两种语言的主谓搭配，在大多数情况下是想通的。英语里一个主谓搭配，译成汉语后，可以保持原来的搭配。但有时却不行，汉译英时也是这样。一般说来，汉语的主谓关系没有英语那么密切。英语对于主语能否做后面的动作考虑较多。因此，译文以什么做主语，怎样和谓语搭配，是汉译英时经常需要斟酌的一个问题。这里主要是指译文以什么作主语，也就是考虑主谓怎样搭配的问题。有时为了突出重点，译文需要保留原文的主语，那就需要考虑选用合适的动词了。抓住这个要点，可能避免许多中国式英语。例如：

1.中国水域、草原、山地资源丰富，开发潜力巨大。

[误译]China’s water,grassland and sloping land resources are rich and they have great potential

for exploitation.

[正译]China has rich water,grassland and sloping land resources which have great potential for exploitation.

[评析]本句以中国作主语，而没有依照原文，以“水域”、“草原”、“山地”为主语。改正译文以China 作主语，管住全句，比较合乎英语的习惯。

2.中国的发展与进步，有利于人类文明。

[误译]The developing and progressing of China are favorable to the civilization of mankind.

[正译]a developing and progressing China is favorable to the civilization of mankind.

[评析]原译文以“发展与进步”作主语，而改正译文以“发展与进步的中国”（China）作主语，这样后面比较好安排，所考虑的主要就是主谓搭配的问题。

3.在少数民族聚居的地方实行了区域自治。民族地区的经济社会获得不断的发展。

[误译]The places where there is a high concentration of ethnic minorities practices regional autonomy.These regions’

economic and social development have continued.

[正译]In places where there is a high concentration of ethnic minorities regional autonomy is in practice.These regions

have witnessed continued economic and social development.

[评析]原文的两个句子分别以“地方”和“经济社会”为主语，原译文也以它们为主语，但是出现了主谓搭配不当的问题。改正译文变换了主语，并用相应的改动了谓语。

4.我们进行改革开放的方向是正确的，信念是坚定的，步骤是稳妥的，方式是渐进的，取得的成就是巨大的。

[误译]The direction of our reform and opening is right,our conviction is firm, our steps are steady and our approach is

gradual,therefore we have achieved tremendous successes.

[正译]We are going in the right direction,firm in conviction,steady in our steps and gradual in our approach when carrying

out the reform and opening-up and that we have achieved tremendous successes.

[评析]原文用了一连串并列的主谓结构，主语不断交换，而这是英语所不喜欢的。改正译文后的译文以we作主语，统管全句，符合英语的表达习惯。

翻译时在保证传译信息内容的同时，译者必须尽可能地保留原文的结构形式。但是在少数的情况下，结构形式是无法保留的。过分讲究形式倒会使译文晦涩别扭因而，往往需要在不改变原文意义的基础上，对句子结构和词汇结构等进行必要的调整，重新组织信息。
